In some cases, it is interesting to proceed with implant placement at the same time as tooth extraction. This is possible if bone conditions permit: enough bone around the tooth is needed to stabilize the implant. This is particularly interesting when it comes to replacing a visible tooth, because we can place a temporary tooth on the implant, and the patient leaves the same day with a new tooth, without passing through a removable temporary prosthesis which is often embarrassing. The only constraint for the patient is having to maintain a soft diet (rice, dough, semolina, half bread …) for 6 weeks. Guided surgery is sometimes used to place the implant as perfectly as possible after extraction.
