Conventional impression materials are gradually being replaced by optical cameras that generate 3D images of dental arches: the patient’s teeth are digitized.
Then, these files (in STL format) are sent to the prosthetist who can perform modeling and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD / CAM) ceramic crowns, veneers or inlays.
